Ampas kopi merupakan endapan dari seduhan biji kopi. Ampas kopi memiliki kandungan senyawa berkhasiat seperti antioksidan dan kafein serta memiliki tekstur kasar yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pembuatan lip scrub. Lip scrub merupakan sediaan kosmetik setengah padat yang dapat mengangkat sel kulit mati pada permukaan kulit bibir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasikan ampas kopi (Coffea arabica L.) kedalam bentuk sediaan lip scrub, menentukan efek mengangkat sel kulit mati dari ampas kopi yang dibandingkan dengan produk di pasaran, dan menentukan stabilitas sediaan lip scrub. Penelitian ini menggunakan persentase ampas kopi 3% (F1), 5% (F2) dan tanpa ampas kopi sebagai blanko (F0). Ketiga formula menghasilkan sediaan lip scrub berbentuk stik solid dengan warna berturut-turut abu muda, abu kecoklatan dan krem kekuningan, dengan aroma khas oleum kakao serta memiliki tekstur halus untuk sediaan blanko dan kasar untuk sediaan F1 dan F2, homogen, rata-rata pH (6,44-6,55), stabil selama penyimpanan 20 hari pada suhu ruang dan tidak mengiritasi bibir. Formulasi F0, F1 dan F2 memenuhi semua kriteria evaluasi. Hasil Uji kesukaan menunjukkan formula F0 dan F1 sangat disukai dari parameter warna dan di sukai berdasarkan parameter aroma dan tekstur sedangkan formula F2 disukai pada parameter warna dan aroma dan sangat disukai berdasarkan parameter tekstur. Hasil uji kelembaban menunjukan formula yang dapat meningkatkan kelembaban mendekati sediaan pembanding (F3) adalah formula F1 dengan rata-rata peningkatan kelembaban 4,17%. Hasil uji pengangkatan sel kulit mati formula F2 dapat mengangkat sel kulit mati yang paling baik pada bibir sukarelawan dibandingkan dengan blanko dan formula F1. Berdasarkan keseluruhan hasil evaluasi yang dihasilkan maka ampas kopi dapat di formulasikan sebagai sediaan lip scrub, sediaan lip scrub dengan konsentrasi ampas kopi 5% merupakan formulasi dengan pengangkatan sel kulit mati yang paling baik, dan sediaan lip scrub stabil selama penyimpanan 20 hari pada suhu ruang.

Coffee grounds are the sediments left over from the steeping of coffee beans. Coffee grounds contains beneficial compounds like antioxidants and caffeine, and also have an abrasive texture that can be used in lip scrubs. Lip scrub is a semisolid cosmetic product that can remove dead skin cells on the surface of the lip skin. The purpose of this study is to formulate coffee grounds (Coffea arabica L.) into lip scrub dosage forms, determine the effect of removing dead skin cells from coffee grounds compared to commercially available products, and determine the stability of lip scrub preparations. This study used the percentage of coffee grounds 3% (F1), 5% (F2) and without coffee grounds as blanks (F0). The three formulas produced lip scrub preparations in the form of solid sticks with successive colors of light gray, brownish ash, and yellowish cream, with a distinct aroma of oleum cocoa and a smooth texture for blank preparations and coarse texture for F1 and F2 preparations, homogeneous, average pH (6,44-6,55), was sTabel for 20 days storage at room temperature, and did not irritate the lips. Formulations F0, F1 and F2 completed all of evaluation criteria. The results of the preference test showed that the F0 and F1 formulas were highly favored on color parameters and preferred based on the aroma and texture parameters, while the F2 formula was favored on the color and aroma parameters and highly preferred based on the texture parameters. The results of the humidity test show that the formula that can increase the humidity close to the comparison preparation (F3) is the F1 formula with an average humidity increase of 4.17%. The results of the test for removing dead skin cells, formula F2, can remove dead skin cells the best on the lips of volunteers compared to blanks and formulas F1. Based on the overall evaluation results, coffee grounds can be formulated as lip scrub preparations, lip scrub preparations with 5% coffee grounds concentration are the best formulations for removing dead skin cells, and lip scrub preparations are stable for 20 days storage at room temperature.
