 <note>This  study  is entitled  &quot;The Implementation  of Cooperative  Learning with Number Head Together (NHT)  in Improving Student Reading. &quot; The objective  of this study is to look at some given theories and/or research  findings on the using of Cooperative Learning to improve student reading.  The discussion of the approach  is  focused on a particular  technique  of Cooperative  Learning,  namely  Numbered  Head  Together (NHT). The study showed that the use of NHT  technique could increasingly motivate and help students  learn  for better text understanding. Besides, Numbered  Heads was very  effective   in  raising  academic  achievement  because  students  have  chance  to exchange their ideas  in doing task. The method of this study is  library  research. Based on experts' statements and also the research finding, it is found that Numbered  Head Together  Technique  is effective and efficient  to improve the  students  reading. The writer expected this study will be useful  for other English teachers.&#13;
