Title : An Analysis of the Use of Jigsaw Technique in Teaching Reading
Comprehension to Junior High School Students (A Library Research)

Jigsaw adalah teknik instruksional yang mendorong siswa untuk bekerja sama dalam membuat atau memahami konten. Hal ini didasarkan pada pemberian tugas kepada siswa yang mengharuskan mereka untuk berkonsentrasi pada kontribusi mereka untuk menyelesaikan tugas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana teknik jigsaw meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa berdasarkan analisis literatur. Peneliti memfokuskan pada langkah-langkah yang harus diterapkan dalam teknik jigsaw agar berhasil dalam mengajarkan pemahaman membaca pada siswa SMP, dan apa kelebihan dan kekurangan teknik jigsaw dalam mengajarkan pemahaman membaca pada siswa SMP, dan bagaimana penggunaan teknik jigsaw meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa pada siswa sekolah menengah pertama. Sebagai langkah awal dalam penelitian kepustakaan, data untuk penelitian ini dikumpulkan dari artikel, jurnal, penelitian sebelumnya, dan sumber elektronik lainnya yang berkaitan dengan penggunaan teknik jigsaw untuk meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa. Teknik analisis data meliputi proses identifikasi data dari sumber kepustakaan yang relevan, menentukan lokasi data, memperoleh data, mengevaluasi data, dan memasukkan data ke dalam penyajian penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknik jigsaw dapat meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa. Karena setiap langkah teka-teki membuat siswa bekerja sama dalam kelompok, mereka dapat bertanya kepada guru apa yang tidak mereka pahami. Selain itu, teknik jigsaw berpengaruh positif terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa, dan kesulitan membaca siswa dapat dikurangi melalui penerapan teknik jigsaw.

It is based on assigning a task to students and requiring them to concentrate on their contributions in order to accomplish the assignment. This research is a library research which aims at analyzing how jigsaw technique improves students’ reading comprehension based on literature analysis. The researcher focuses on the steps that must be applied in jigsaw technique to be successful in teaching reading comprehension in junior high school students, and what the advantages and disadvantages of jigsaw technique in teaching reading comprehension to junior high school students are, and how does the use of jigsaw technique improve students' reading comprehension in junior high school students. As the first step in library research, the data for this study was gathered from articles, journals, previous research, and other electronic sources relating to the use of jigsaw technique to improve students' reading comprehension. The data analysis technique includes the processes of data identification from relevant literature sources, determining where the data is located, obtaining the data, evaluating the data, and incorporating the data into the research presentation. The results of this study show that the use of jigsaw technique can improve students’ reading comprehension. Because every step of the puzzle makes students work together in a group, they can ask the teacher what they do not understand. In addition, jigsaw technique has a positive effect on students’ reading comprehension, and students’ reading difficulties can be reduced through the application of jigsaw technique.
