More than half of Facebook users in Indonesia are Students between 13 to 24 years old. The fact that the students access Facebook as recreational activity. Some previous studies indicate Facebook could serve as learning media and its function in changing way of communication. Some activities on Facebook is feasible to be accommodated as learning activity especially in English to establish vocabulary development and usage. Since Facebook is a part of Internet Activity, of course it shares the characteristics of internet. In this study, the writer wants to know the correlation between students' usage of Facebook and their achievement in mastering vocabulary, in this case English. The study conducted toward students of Senior High School in Banda Aceh with samples of SMAN I, SMAN 3, SMAN 8 and SMAN 13 in area of Banda Aceh. Questionnaire and vocabulary test were applied in order to get the data of Facebook usage and students achievement in mastering vocabulary. The result shows that the students' usage of Facebook correlate in negative way to their achievement in mastering vocabulary. Otherwise, we cannot determine any further information on how these factors interact each other.
