 <note>This thesis is  under the title of &quot;Improving Students Speaking Ability by Using Role Play&quot;. Role play is one of the teaching approaches under Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). The writer conducted a library study,  which was conducted through exploration  in  library and internet. The writer also conducted teaching simulation at SMU Inshafuddin Banda Aceh.  The result of this study shows that the students get better understanding of daily speaking and using  English in  real  life.  Besides  role play also increased  their motivation  in  using English.  in short, it  is  proven that the use of role  play  is  effective  to  improve  student's  ability  in  speaking.  Role  play technique could be used as an alternative approach to teach speaking skill. The writer concludes that  role  play  is  one  of the  best methods that are  proper to  increase students speaking ability&#13;
