The goal of this study is to find out a variety of references regarding group work which can be implemented in teaching speaking skill for secondary school students. This scientific work shows that group work is an appropriate activity to overcome students' anxiety in improving their speaking skill. The activity has a very clear procedure to follow. It helps students to participate more in speaking group. Most students are more free to share their thoughts and feelings rather than being stuck in front of the whole class. The study belongs to a library study and uses books and online journals, from both library and internet, as varied resources. Readings are processed and described in a descriptive way. After analyzing several reliable resources, it is evident that dividing students into groups is very effective in stimulating their creativity, confidence and sense of teamwork. Finally, teaching speaking through group work is advantageous for EFL students and teachers.
