Title : Applying CALL Software English Deluxe 10 to Improve
Students' Listening Skill
The script is under the title Applying CALL Software English Deluxe 10 to Improve Students' Listening Skill. CALL Software is one of approach by using a computer as a media in teaching English that can help the students improving listening skill. CALL software English deluxe 10 is like table activity for students and helps them easy to comprehend the materials. The writer conducted the study with the aim at finding out the effectiveness of applying CALL software English Deluxe 10 improving students' ability in listening. The method used in this study is quantitative experimental research. The population of this study was the second grade students of SMPN 19 Percontohan Banda Aceh. There was only one experimental class chosen randomly as the subject of this research. The data were collected through Pretest and post-test. Pretest was conducted before the experiment in order to know the students' score before the treatment. On the contrary, post-test was conducted to know the students' score after the treatment. To find the result of this study, the writer used T -score. The result showed that the mean score of post-test score (90.8) is higher than the mean score of pretest (76.1). The result of T-score is 8.79. The critical value of t-table at the level significant 0.05 is 2.045 and at the level significant 0.01 is 2.462 with the degree of freedom (N-I) 29. Then, it can be concluded that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, while null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Finally, the application of CALL software English Deluxe 10 improves students' listening skill and gives some advantages; the students are more active and enjoy in the classroom during the listening English learning.
