Script Title : A Study on English Teachers' Efforts to Cope with
Problems in Teaching Writing

This script focuses on English teachers' efforts to cope with problems in leaching writing at SMPN II Banda Aceh. By using descriptive qualitative method, this study attempted to decribe problems faced by English teacher in teaching writing and explain the teachers' efforts to cope with the problems. The subjects of this study are two English teachers who taught in different grade, grade VII and VlIl at SMPN II Banda Aceh. The instruments used to collect the data are observation sheet. interview guide, lesson plan and student's assignment as supporting document. The data obtained from observation, interview, and document is then classified tallied. All the data is analyzed descriptively. The result of the study shows that both of the English teachers had problems in teaching writing. There are approximately ten problems found by the researcher related to what the teachers and students had encountered.
