Graphic  organizer  is used as one of teaching  media  that can help students  solve their problem  in writing  text.  It is a visual  display  that  is used to depict  the relationships between  facts,  terms, and ideas within  the learning  task and it can make a curriculum more  supportive  for students  and teachers.  The  objective  of  this study  is to look  at some given theories  and research  findings  on the use of graphic  organizer  in teaching writing  skin.  The discussion  is focused  on the use of this media  in solving  students' problem  in writing  text   The  study  found  that  using  graphic  organizer   in teaching writing  can  facilitate   students  to  explore   and  brainstorm   new  ideas.  Besides,   the study  also  found  that  the  students  enjoyed  the  writing  task  with  this  media.  The method  used in this study is library research.  Readings  obtained  from various  sources are processed  and described  in a descriptive  way.  Based  on the research  finding  and experts'   statement,  it is found that graphic  organizer  is effective  in solving  students' problem  in writing  text.  This  study  is expected  to be useful  for English  teacher  in teaching  writing skill.&#13;
