Title : Using Realia in Writing Descriptive Text

Some second grade students of Junior High School considered writing descriptive text a difficult subject to learn without any aids. Some research informed that the use of realia in writing descriptive can attract students' interest to write. The writer conducted the research with specific purpose to compare students' ability by using non-realia to realia learning. The model of this experimental design is called Pretest- Posttest Control Group Design. To find the result, the writer used T-test. This was proven with the result of 4,03 of T-test, where was higher than T -critic at Jevel of significant 0,05 {2,0}) and 0,01 (2,68). So, the alternative hypothesis is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. It proves that the use of realia can improve students' ability in descriptive writing.
