The study was intended to figure out the students' learning styles and the difference of their performance in listening comprehension. This study applied a descriptive quantitative method. The sample of this research was 71 English Department Students of Syiah Kuala University who have passed Listening Comprehension Ill. The data were collected by using a set of questionnaire (to examine the students learning styles) and test (to gain the students' performance in listening comprehension) in the form of multiple choices. The data were analyzed by using mean score and t-test formula at 5% level of significance. The mean for visual students is 30.26. auditory students is 31.50. kinesthetic students is 27.92, and dual students is 38.66. The finding of this study shows that the two learning styles (dual) students have the highest score and significant difference compared with visual and kinesthetic ones referring to the t-table. Regarding to the three primary learning styles, the auditory students have the highest score, but there is no significant difference among them. Based on the research results. the writer recommends that the students should be aware about the learning styles in order to optimize their learning achievement.
