<note>This study which used library research is intended to explore some given theories and/or research findings on the use of Cooperative Learning Type Think Pair and Share (TPS) in teaching reading. Reading is one of the four language components that should be mastered by the students. Without reading, the students could not enlarge their knowledge, open the window of the world, and access information deeply. However, the students get problems in comprehending the text. They have insufficient amount of vocabulary, insufficient time allocation, and unappropriate teaching method used in teaching reading. The method of this study is library research where the writer collects data from many literatures such as books, thesis, dissertations, journals, and articles those are related to the teaching reading through Think-Pair and Share. Readings obtained are processed and described in a qualitative manner. The study found that using the Think Pair and Share (TPS) as one technique in Cooperative Learning can help students be able to improve the students' reading comprehension. The results of this study can be used as a treatment technique in teaching and learning reading.
