This thesis IS under the title "Teaching Vocabulary by Using Visual Aids at Aneuk Batee Elementary School and SD I Sibreh Aceh Besar". Visual aid is one of media that can be used in teaching vocabulary to young learners It is also to measure the different results of teaching vocabulary through visual aids and conventional way In order to prove the hypotheses, the writer conducted an experiment to the grade fourth pupils of Aneuk Batee Elementary School and SD I Sibreh Aceh Besar Aneuk Batee Elementary School with 30 pupils was chosen as Experimental Group (EG) and SD I Sibreh also with 30 samples to be Control Group (CG), The writer administered
a pre-test to both groups dealing with the vocabulary, Then, the teacher taught the experimental group by applying the Visual aids, while the control group was taught by teacher of English. At the end of the experiment. the writer gave post-test to both of groups, The result of the post-test shows that the means score of the students In experimental group is 81.18 and the means score for control group IS 59,51 This indicates that the students' performance in experimental group is better than in control group. This research concluded that teaching English vocabulary by using visual aids to the young learner have positive influences towards pupil performance
