This research is entitled the impact of jigsaw learning model on the students' reading skill performance at SMPN I Peukan Bada. This research focuses on following problem what are the impact of jigsaw learning model implementation on students' performance in reading skill. The goal of this research is to indentify the impact of jigsaw learning model implementation on students' performance in reading skill. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative analysis. The instruments that used in this research were observation guide, interview guide, questionnaires, and test. The finding of the research proves that the teacher used the procedure of jigsaw learning model in teaching reading although one step that used in teaching and learning process. The process jigsaw was effective to be implemented in reading class because from the result of questionnaire showed the students had positive attitudes in learning reading through jigsaw learning model. The result of students individual reading task showed that ten from twenty-three subject achieved the quality of excellent. eight students achieved the quality of very good, three subjects achieved the quality of good, and three subjects achieved quality of average. It meant that 91,34% subjects had met criteria of success and only 8,66% subjects who had met the criteria of unsuccessful in learning mastery. In the other words, jigsaw learning model had good impacts in teaching and learning reading.
