Reading skill is highly necessary for English foreign language students because students often read text from printed and electronic media such as newspaper, magazine, novel, internet and so on. In fact, students have some problem in reading comprehension, such difficulties to understand the message and less motivated in teaching and learning process. To overcome these problems, the writer suggests teacher to apply an appropriate method in teaching reading, namely CTL through computer assistance. CTL can make students enjoy and easy to understand reading text, because they relate the lesson to their real life. In this case, the computer is an interactive media that allows students to communicate visually by displaying text, graphics, images and video on screen. The aim of this study is to explore some theories related to CTL through computer assistance. The method used in this study was library research, which is a kind of research that collects the data based on theories or expert's statement. The finding shows that, by using this method, the students can understand the reading better and were more motivated in learning process.
