 <note>The purpose of this study  is to find out whether there  is a significant difference between the third year students of SMPN I   and the third year students of MTsN I Simpang  Tiga  Redelong  in  mastering  comparison  of adjective or  not. In  other words,   the  writer  wants   to   know   which   students   are   better   in   mastering comparison of adjective. The population of this study are the third year students of SMPN  I   and  the  third  year  students  of MTsN  I   Simpang  Tiga  Redelong.  The samples of   MTsN I   Simpang Tiga Redelong  is class II which consists  of the thirty students, and the samples of SMPN I   Simpang Tiga Redelong is class III,also consist of thirty students. Every student has to answer forty questions which divided  in  four parts,  they are 20 questions of multiple of choice, ten questions of completing sentences,  five of changing  adjective to comparative  and superlative and  combining  sentences   in  positive  form  (using  as...as).  If a  student  could answer  all questions  correctly,  she/he  would  get score one  hundred.  In finding result, the writer used statistical procedures. First, she used mean score and sums square formula.  The mean score of MTsN I  Simpang Tiga Redelong  is 57,25 and the mean score of SMPN I  Simpang Tiga Redelong is 53,6. Then, the writer used T-score formula in  order to know whether there is a difference  between the third year  students  of SMPN  Simpang Tiga  Redelong  and the third year students of MTsN  I   Simpang  Tiga  Redelong  in  mastering  comparison  of adjective.  After calculating  the data to  T-score  formula,  it  is obtained  that T-count  is 0,79. The writer used the T-distribution  table to see if T- count  is bigger than T-table  or instead. The  writer used 0,05  (5%) the  level  of significance in   58 degree of freedom. T-count  is 0, 79 and T-table for 58 degree of freedom  in  level  of 0,05 is 2,9.I shows that T-count  is  smaller  than T-table  and it  means that there is  no significant different  between the third year students of SMPN I   and the third year students   of  MTsN  I Simpang   Tiga   Redelong  in  mastering  comparison  of adjective.&#13;
