ABSTRAK Nama : Jeshy Asyifa Fakultas : Kedokteran Gigi Progran Studi : Pendidikan Dokter Gigi Judul : Gambaran Cedera Saraf Pasca Odontektomi Molar Ketiga Rahang Bawah: Tinjauan Pustaka Gigi impaksi adalah gigi yang gagal tumbuh sempurna ke dalam lengkung rahang dalam rentang waktu yang biasanya. Upaya mengeluarkan gigi impaksi terutama pada molar ketiga rahang bawah dilakukan dengan tindakan pembedahan yaitu odontektomi. Cedera saraf merupakan salah satu komplikasi yang sering terjadi pasca odontektomi molar ketiga rahang bawah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji gambaran cedera saraf pasca odontektomi molar ketiga rahang bawah. Literatur diseleksi melalui pencarian database elektronik PubMed Central (PMC), ScienceDirect dan Google Scholar dengan rentang publikasi tahun 2012 hingga 2021. Artikel penelitian berbahasa Indonesia dan Inggris dengan subjek pasien odontektomi molar ketiga mandibula. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan 8 jurnal yang dikaji, tindakan odontektomi molar ketiga rahang bawah impaksi berisiko terjadi cedera saraf. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa risiko terjadinya cedera saraf akan selalu ada dan meningkat berdasarkan faktor yang mempengaruhinya berupa usia, kedalaman impaksi, teknik dan durasi bedah. Cedera saraf umumnya bersifat sementara dan sebagian cedera sembuh setelah 6 bulan. Kata kunci : Molar ketiga, odontektomi, komplikasi, cedera saraf. The procedure for removing impacted teeth, especially in the mandibular third molars, is odontectomy. Nerve injury is one of the most common complications after mandibular third molar odontectomy. The purpose of this study was to examine the desciption of nerve injury after mandibular third molar odontectomy. The literature was selected through an electronic database search PubMed Central (PMC), ScienceDirect and Google Scholar with a publication range from 2012 to 2021. Scientific research articles in Indonesian and English with the subject of mandibular third molar odontectomy patients. Research result Based on 8 reviewed journals, odontectomy for impacted mandibular third molars carries a risk of nerve injury. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the risk of nerve injury is always present and increases based on the factors that influence it. The influencing factors were age, depth of impaction, technique and duration of surgery. Nerve injuries are generally temporary and some injuries heal after 6 months.
