Tanaman serai wangi (Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) stapf). memiliki kandungan minyak atsiri jenis monoterpena dan seskuiterpena yang berguna sebagai anti bakteri, anti repelan, dan bahan dasar pembuatan pewangi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk Mengidentifikasi senyawa yang terkandung di dalam minyak atsiri serai wangi secara GC-MS, dan menentukan sifat fisiko-kimianya. Metode ektraksi yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan minyak atsiri dari serai wangi pada penelitian yang dilakukan secara destilasi uap. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitiaan ini yaitu diperoleh minyak serai wangi dengan karakteristik minyak berwarna kuning pucat, dan berbau khas minyak atsiri atau aromatik, memiliki indeks nilai bias 1,4498, bobot jenis 0,8388 gr/ml3, kelarutan dalam alkohol 90 % dengan perbandingan 1:1 jernih , dan bilangan asam 2,16. Hasil Analisis secara GC-MS diperoleh tiga senyawa tertinggi yaitu citronella 45,31 %, geraniol 15,18 %, dan beta-citronellol 11,51 %. Hasil FTIR mengintrepretasikan adanya peak dengan kandungan air pada bilangan gelombang 3.429.43. &#13;

ABSTRACT&#13;
&#13;
Citronella plant (Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) stapf). contains essential oils of monoterpene and sesquiterpene types which are useful as antibacterial, antirepilent, and basic ingredients for making perfume. The purpose of this study was to prevent the compounds contained in citronella essential oil by GC-MS, and to determine its physico-chemical properties. The extraction method was used to obtain the essential oil from citronella in the research conducted by steam distillation. The results obtained in this study are that citronella oil is obtained with the characteristics colour of pale yellow, and has a characteristic odor of essential or aromatic oils, has a refractive index of 1.4498, a specific gravity of 0.8388 g/ml3 , a solubility in alcohol of 90% with a ratio of 1:1 clear, and the acid number is 2.16. The results of GC-MS analysis obtained the three highest compounds, namely citronella 45.31%, geraniol 15.18%, and beta-citronellol 11.51%.  The FTIR result interprets the presence of a peak with a water content at the wave number of 3.429.43.&#13;
