ABSTRAK

Pemilihan raya (Pemira) presiden dan wakil presiden mahasiswa Universitas Syiah Kuala tahun 2019 diikuti oleh 50% lebih mahasiswa aktif Universitas Syiah Kuala. Artinya prosentase yang tidak memilih cukup tinggi, yang menunjukkan ada fenomena apatisme di kalangan mahasiswa Universitas Syiah Kuala terhadap pemira. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apa yang menyebabkan banyaknya mahasiswa Universitas Syiah Kuala bersikap golput/tidak memilih pada pemilihan raya presiden mahasiswa/wakil presiden mahasiswa tahun 2019. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor yang menyebabkan mahasiswa Universitas Syiah Kuala bersikap apatis terhadap pemilihan raya presiden mahasiswa/wakil presiden mahasiswa tahun 2019, Untuk mengetahui seberapa penting keterlibatan pada pemilihan raya presiden mahasiswa dan wakil presiden mahasiswa dibandingkan dengan kegiatan/aktifitas lainnya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan explanatory research yaitu penelitian yang menjelaskan hubungan kausal antara variabel-variabel melalui pengujian hipotesis. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa aktif Universitas Syiah Kuala tahun 2019. Metode pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah nonprobability sampling yaitu dengan teknik purposive sampling yaitu teknik pengambilan sampel sumber data dengan pertimbangan tertentu yaitu mahasiswa yang golput/tidak memilih pada pemira, sedangkan jumlah sampel adalah sebanyak 100 responden. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil pengujian hipotesis dengan pengujian secara parsial dan simultan diperoleh ada empat faktor yang menyebabkan apatisme pada mahasiswa Universitas Syiah Kuala pada pemira 2019. Keempat faktor tersebut adalah memandang rendah manfaat keterlibatan pada politik dibandingkan dengan manfaat dari aktivitas lainnya, tidak melihat adanya perbedaan yang tegas dengan keadaan sebelumnya, tidak mau terlibat dalam politik karena tidak dapat merubah dengan jelas hasilnya, dan kurang mau terlibat dalam politik karena hasilnya relatif memuaskan sekalipun ia tidak berperan di dalam. Disarankan untuk mengurangi gejala golput di masa mendatang, kepengurusan yang terpilih harus menunjukkan kinerja yang lebih baik dari yang sebelumnya.

ABSTRACT

The election for president and vice president of Syiah Kuala University students in 2019 was attended by more than 50% of active students of Syiah Kuala University. This means that the percentage who do not vote is quite high, which indicates that there is a phenomenon of apathy among students of Syiah Kuala University towards the audience. The formulation of the problem in this study is what causes many Syiah Kuala University students to abstain/not vote in the 2019 student president/vice-presidential election. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that cause Syiah Kuala University students to be apathetic towards the presidential election. student / student vice president in 2019, To find out how important involvement in the election of student presidents and student vice presidents is compared to other activities / activities. This type of research is quantitative research with anapproach, explanatory research namely research that explains the causal relationship between variables through hypothesis testing. The population in this study were all active students of Syiah Kuala University in 2019. The sampling method in this study was non- probability sampling, namely the purposive samplingsampling technique, namely thetechnique of data sources with certain considerations, namely students who abstained / did not vote for the audience, while the number of samples are 100 respondents. Data was collected by using a questionnaire method. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of hypothesis testing with partial and simultaneous testing obtained that there are four factors that cause apathy in Syiah Kuala University students in 2019 pemira. These four factors are looking down on the benefits of involvement in politics compared to the benefits of other activities, not seeing a clear difference with the situation. Previously, he did not want to be involved in politics because he could not clearly change the outcome, and was less willing to be involved in politics because the results were relatively satisfactory even though he did not play a role in it. It is recommended to reduce the symptoms of abstinence in the future, the elected management must show better performance than the previous one.
