Aula Zakia. 1605108010005. Characterization and Genesis of Tidal Swamp Land in Several Types of Land Use in Two Villages in Peukan Bada Su-district Aceh Besar District under the guidance of Teti Arabia as leader and Helmi as member.
SUMMARY

Aceh Besar District is an area where several areas are bordered by the coast, including Lambaro Neujid village and Lambadeuk village, Peukan Bada Sub-district. The village area is very close to the beach, in this village there are swamps that are influenced by the tides of sea water which are categorized into zone 1 swamps. The purpose of this study was to determine ”Characterization and Genesis of Tidal Swamp Land in Several Types of Land Use in Two Villages in Peukan Bada Su-district Aceh Besar District".
The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive survey with morphological characteristics parameters, namely: soil horizon boundaries and depths, topographic boundaries of soil, matrix color and soil rust, soil structure, soil consistency, soil plasticity, and roots. Physical characteristic parameters, namely: texture and bulk density, while chemical characteristic parameters, namely: pH, C-organic, dd bases (Ca, Mg, Na, K), dd acids (Al and H), exchange capacity cations, and base saturation.
Characteristics of mangrove land and ponds in tidal areas: (a) morphological characteristics: mangrove land and pond land have E and Bw horizons with a thickness of 32 cm and 28 cm, respectively, with soil colors on the E horizon being brownish black and olive gray. and the color of the soil on the Bw horizon is dark gray and dark green gray; (b) physical characteristics: mangrove land and fishpond land have soil texture classes of loamy sand and sand at E and Bw; and has moderate soil density criteria on both horizons; and (c) chemical characteristics: mangroves and ponds have slightly alkaline pH criteria in the Bw horizon, very low organic C, low CEC (cation exchange capacity), and high and very high KB (base saturation) in the Bw horizon.
Characteristics of paddy fields in tidal areas: (a) morphological characteristics: paddy fields have a thickness of 60 cm and consist of horizon A with black soil color, AE and E with very dark gray soil color, BE and Bw with dark green gray soil color ; (b) physical characteristics: paddy fields have a soil texture class which is dominated by sandy loam in the A, E, BE, and Bw horizons; and loamy sand on the E horizon; and paddy fields have medium bulk density criteria; and (c) chemical characteristics: rice fields have the criteria for pH slightly acidic, neutral, alkaline, and slightly alkaline, very low organic C, low CEC, and low, medium, and high KB.
Mangrove land, ponds, and rice fields have the same soil-forming factors, namely: parent material derived from sedimentary rock/aluvium (gravel, sand, and mud), climate type C (slightly wet), flat relief, holocene age (0 ,6 million years ago - now), with the order Inceptisol in all three land uses. The process of genesis on land: (a) Mangroves: eluviation, gleization, and braunification; (b) Ponds: eluviation and gleization; and (c) Rice fields: decomposition, gleization, leusinization, and eluviation.
