feedback on Students’ Writing Performance at SMAN 1 Ingin
Jaya

This study aims at examining whether the use of feedback strategy improves
students’ performance in English writing ability.Quantitative approach with
experimental research was undertaken to overcome the problems faced by students in
learning writing skill. The instrument used to collect the data in this study by means
of the test in the form of written test. The result of the test analyzed by using writing
criteria proposed by Brown (2004). In addition, some statisctical formulae were also
used to analyze the data. From the results of the study revealed there is a significant
improvement on students’ post test in writing ability after the feedback strategy
implemented. Thus, feedback can be one of alternative strategy used by the teacher
in teaching English particularly teaching writing in EFL class.
