<note>One distinguishing aspect of literary work is the presence of figurative languages with hidden meaning. Therefore, such a characteristic requires more analysis to understand. As a part of language learning, this is an issue that is very important to be studied. The researcher applied qualitative research on Dragonforce’s song. The main objective of this research is to understand the types of figurative language types and what values are hidden within the lyrics of the songs. The researcher used Gibbs and Colston (2012) and Schwartz’s (2007) theories to support this study. In doing the research, the researcher took one subject; the subject of this research is the lyrics of the songs. The researchers selected three songs as the sample for this research. Furthermore, the researcher listened to the songs and read the lyrics in order to collect the data. In the end, the researcher found 48 sentences that affiliated with figurative language mainly idiom, hyperbole, and personification. The researcher also founds one stimulation value and two self–direction values. Hence, after having this study, the researcher wishes this study could enhance teachers’ and student’s awareness and understanding of figurative language.</note>
