Writingfor Junior High School Students.


The title of this library research is the Implementation of Content-Based Instruction (CBI) in Teaching Writing for Junior High School Students. While the objective of this study is to analyze some theories and/or research findings about the approach of teaching writing skill that is accomplished through the implementation of CBI. The discussion of the approach is focused on Theme-Based, one of the models in CBI, that refers to a language course in which the syllabus is organized around themes or topics. Based on the research study and experts' statements, it is found that using Theme-Based can facilitate the students organize their ideas and/or information in composing paragraphs. Besides, the students are highly motivated since the teacher gives them authentic materials. The data obtained from various readings are processed and described in a descriptive way. This study is expected to be useful for the writer and other English teachers.
