Title : Teaching Speaking by Using Cooperative Learning Think
Pair Share for Junior High School Students

The title of this thesis is "Teaching Speaking by Using Cooperative Learning Think Pair Share for Junior High School Students". It is aimed to explore some theories about the application of cooperative learning and focused on a particular technique under the cooperative learning, namely think-pair-share in improving students abilities in speaking skill at junior high school. It is only focused on an alternative method in teaching speaking. The writer conducted a library research to find out the needed data. ln conducting the library research, the writer uses several sources of data or information such as: books, journals, articles, and thesis that have been conducted by several experts related to the problem being investigated. In addition. the writer also accesses various references through websites on the internet. From the discussion, the writer suggests that the student have to master a lot of vocabulary in order to communicate with others in using English inside and outside the classroom. It is also important for the students to have motivation in learning English. Think• pair-share technique is a cooperative learning technique that encourages individual participalion and is applicable across all grade levels and class sizes. The results of this study can be used as a treatment model in learning speaking.
