 <note>The objective of this study is to look at some given theories  and/ or research  findings on the using of Cooperative  Learning  to improve student  speaking.  The discussion  of the  approach  is  focused  on  a particular   technique  of cooperative   learning,  namely Teams  Games  Tournament   {TGT).  The  study  found  that  using  cooperative  teams games  tournament   (TGT)  can  facilitate   the  students  exchange   their  ideas  and/or information  in a useful manner.  Besides,  each student  has equal  opportunity  to speak or practice  the  language. It also  found  that  the  studePnts  are  highly  motivated  and pleased  to learn  the language  in many aspects  of language.  The  method  used in this study is library research.  Readings  obtained  from various are processed  and described in a descriptive way.  Based  on  the  research  findings  and  experts'  statements,   it  is found  that cooperative   teams  games  tournament  {TGT)  is  effective   to enhance  the students'  speaking   skill.    This  study  is  expected   to  be  useful  for  other  English teachers.&#13;
