This  study  is  entitled   The Use of Controlled Technique in Teaching  Writing for Junior  High  School  Students.   Writing   is   a   language   skill   which   is  used   for communication indirectly  with other people. However, writing is difficult for students and they are also reluctant  to write, so the teacher  should apply a suitable technique  in order to improve students'  writing ability and increase students' confidence  in writing for Junior  High  School  students.  Controlled  technique  is  a technique  that  could  be applied  by the teacher  in teaching writing. The aim of this research is to find out more explanations of  the  implementation   controlled   technique   in  improving   students' ability  in  writing.  The  methodology   used  in  this  research  was  library  research  by searching    and   collecting    references   includes   books,  journals,   articles,   and   the previous  researches.  Based  on those sources and references the writer concludes  that controlled  technique  is a good technique  in teaching writing where it could be seen in the students' improvement in writing.  Furthermore, Controlled technique  is one of the alternative techniques  that could be implemented  by the teachers in teaching writing.&#13;
