	Bakteri endofit hidup di dalam jaringan tanaman yang memperoleh nutrisi dan perlindungan dari tanaman inangnya. Bakteri endofit berpotensi sebagai sumber produk alam untuk antimikroba, antijamur dan antiinflamasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas antimikroba ekstrak etanol daun balakacida (Chromolaena odorata) dan bakteri endofit balakacida isolat BEB-4 dan BEB-5 terhadap bakteri patogen Pasteurella multocida. Penelitian ini dimulai dengan purifikasi bakteri endofit dan pewarnaan Gram, pembuatan ekstrak daun balakacida, uji fitokimia ekstrak etanol daun balakacida, uji metabolit sekunder bakteri endofit balakacida isolat BEB-4 dan BEB-5, serta uji aktivitas antimikroba terhadap Pasteurella multocida. Berdasarkan hasil uji metabolit sekunder ditunjukkan bahwa  bakteri endofit balakacida isolat BEB-4 dan BEB-5 mengandung senyawa bioaktif berupa steroid, fenolik dan tanin yang sama dengan ekstrak tanaman inangnya, hanya berbeda pada keberadaan senyawa flavonoid yang meneyebabkan hasil uji aktivitas antimikroba isolat BEB-4 dan BEB-5 yang tidak memiliki kemampuan dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri patogen P. multocida, sedangkan ekstrak etanol daun balakacida dengan konsentrasi 25%; 50%; dan 100% mampu menghambat pertumbuan bakteri patogen P. multocida. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun balakacida mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri patogen P. multocida sedangkan isolat bakteri endofit BEB-4 dan BEB-5 tidak mampu menghambat bakteri patogen Pasteurella multocida.&#13;

ABSTRACT&#13;

Endophytic bacteria live in and colonize plant tissues. These bacteria are know potential resources of natural products for antimicrobial, antifungal and antiinflammation. This study aims to examine the antimicrobial activity of the ethanol extract of balakacida leaves (Chromolaena odorata) and balakacida endophytic bacteria isolates BEB-4 and BEB-5 against the pathogenic bacteria  Pasteurella multocida. This research begins with the purification of endophytic bacteria and Gram stain, ethanol extract of balakacida leaves, secondary metabolite analysis of balakacida endophytic bacteria isolates BEB-4 and BEB-5, and determination of balakacida of antimicrobial activity against Pasteurella multocida. Based on the results of the secondary metabolite analysis, it was shown that the balakacida endophytic bacteria isolates BEB-4 and BEB-5 contained bioactive compounds of steroids, phenolics and tannins, which were the same as the host plant, only different in the presence of flavonoid compounds that have caused the antimicrobial activity test of bacterial isolates BEB-4 and BEB-5 which could not inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria P. multocida, while the ethanol extracts of balakacida leaves with a concentration of 25%; 50%; and 100% were able to inhibit the growth of bacteria and isolates BEB-4 and BEB-5 did not have the ability to inhibit the growth of pathogenic P. multocida. It can be concluded that the ethanol extract of balakacida leaves is able to inhibit the growth of pathogenic P. multocida while the endophytic bacterial isolates BEB-4 and BEB-5 are unable to inhibit the pathogenic bacteria Pasteurella multocida.&#13;
