Title : Teaching Reading Comprehension through Numbered Heads Together
(NHT) Model for Senior High School (A library Research).

Teaching Reading Comprehension through Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Mode) for Senior High School is the main topic of this script. The objective of this research is to elaborate some existing theories and/or research findings on teaching reading comprehension through numbered heads together model for senior high school. The writer used library research method in this script. The data were collected through various types of journals, books, articles, or other materials in the library collection and internet that related to the research. The writer found some theories that teaching English through Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model was an effective model in increasing students reading ability. The result is by using Numbered Heads Together model, students can improve the students' reading comprehension especially in teaching learning narrative text. Sahrudin and Sri Iriani (2011) pointed that Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model is a type of cooperative that emphasizes the special structure thus affecting the interaction patterns and improves academic mastery. Joyce (1992:S) added that cooperative learning is a large number of effective means for organizing students to work together. Based on theories and finding research, it is concluded that Numbered Heads Together model (NHT) can be one of the effectiveness solutions to improve students reading comprehension. Therefore, English teachers are suggested to use NHT model as an effective in enhancing the students' participation in reading class and in reading activity.
