<note>This thesis is entitled "The Process of Teaching and Learning English Structure by Using Learning Community (LC) Strategy." The main point that is described in this thesis is the application of learning community strategy in studying structure. Learning Community strategy is one of seven elements in Contextual Teaching and Leaming (CTL) approach. This strategy, is purposely used not only to make the students active, to motivate the sudents in learning structure. able to learn, serious. enthusiastic. but also to make them more understand the materials by discussing with their friends. The population of this study is the students who were taking Structure II at English Department and only one group consisting 20 students are taken as sample of this study. The method applied in this study is descriptive analysis. by doing an observation through Classroom Action Reseach. In obtaining the sufficient data. a set of questionnaire and students observation sheet were used as instruments. It is found
that there is a good contribution of studying process in English gramm atical structure. Most of students enjoyed and were satisfied with the process of the strategy and suggested that all the teachers in the future use this strategy in their teaching and learnin g process. The writer found that most of the students were studying the English subject (Structure Ill) actively, seriously and enthusiastically.
