ABSTRAK&#13;
Kecerdasan emosional merupakan kemampuan untuk mengenali perasaan diri sendiri&#13;
dan perasaan orang lain. Emosional Intelligence memberikan kontribusi yang&#13;
bermakna dalam membantu meningkatkan hasil kerja. Perawat sebagai profesi yang&#13;
berorientasi kepada pelayanan jasa memerlukan keterampilan dalam mengelola&#13;
emosinya, karena keterampilan penguasaan emosi sangat berpengaruh terhadap&#13;
kinerja perawat. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui perbedaan kecerdasan&#13;
emosional mahasiswa keperawatan jalur A dengan jalur B di PSIK-FK-Unsyiah&#13;
tahun 2013. Metode penelitian adalah comparative study. Sampel dalam penelitian&#13;
ini sebanyak 154 responden dengan terdiri dari 77 responden mahasiswa jalur A dan&#13;
77 responden mahasiswa B. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada mahasiswa jalur A&#13;
menggunakan teknik accidental sampling dan pada mahasiswa jalur B menggunakan&#13;
total sampling. Penelitian dilakukan pada tanggal 15 Mei sampai dengan 24 Mei&#13;
2013 dengan kuesioner yang terdiri dari 26 item pernyataan. Analisa data dilakukan&#13;
dengan uji T-test Independent. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menyatakan terdapat&#13;
perbedaan kecerdasan emosional mahasiswa jalur A dengan mahasiswa jalur B (pvalue&#13;
0,000), kesadaran diri (p-value 0,003), mengelola emosi (p-value 0,000),&#13;
memotivasi diri (p-value 0,000), Empati (p-value 0,000) dan keterampilan sosial (pvalue&#13;
0,008). Disarankan kepada mahasiswa agar dapat mengembangkan&#13;
kemampuan pada keterampilan sosial sehingga dapat menjaga hubungan baik dalam&#13;
berkomunikasi, berorganisasi, memimpin dan mengatasi konflik serta dapat&#13;
membangun kerjasama yang baik dengan orang lain .&#13;

The Emotional Intellegence of Nursing Students Programme A and Programme&#13;
B in the Study Program of Nursing Sciences of Medical Faculty Syiah Kuala&#13;
University 2013&#13;
ABSTRACT&#13;
Emotional intelligence is an ability for recognising self-feling and other’s feeling.&#13;
Emotional intelligence gives a meaningful contribution in helping increase the&#13;
working result. Nurse as a profession oriented to the service needs a skillin&#13;
controlling emotion, since a skill of emotional management really influences the&#13;
nurses’ performance. The research aimed to find out a difference of emotional&#13;
intelligence on nursing students programme A and programe B in the Study Program&#13;
of Nursing Sciences of Medical Faculty Syiah Kuala University (PSIK-FK-Unsyiah)&#13;
2013. The research method was a comparative study. The sample of this research&#13;
was 154 respondents consisting of 77 student respondents programme A and 77&#13;
student respondents programme B. Technique of selecting sample on students&#13;
programme A used an accidental sampling technique and on students programme B&#13;
used a total sampling one. The research was carried out on May 15 until May 24,&#13;
2013 with a questionnaire which consists of 26 question items. Data analysis was&#13;
conducted through T-test Independenttest. The research results showed that there was&#13;
a difference of student programe A’s emotional intelligence with programme B’s (pvalue&#13;
0,000), self awareness (p-value 0,003), emotion control (p-value 0,000), selfmotivating&#13;
(p-value 0,000), emphaty (p-value 0,000) and social skill (p-value 0,008).&#13;
It is suggested to the students to be able to develop a social skill so that they can&#13;
maintain a good relationship in communicating, organising, leading and handling the&#13;
conflict also build the cooperation with other people.&#13;
