Sebuah penelitian untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang perubahan profil darah kucing jantan yang hidup liar, dan terinfeksi oleh Toxoplasma gondii telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan gambaran darah pada kucing yang terinfeksi dan tidak terinfeksi. Sebanyak 17 ekor kucing yang diambil dari pasar tradisional di kota Banda Aceh dan sekitarnya terlebih dahulu diperiksa menggunakan rapid test. Dari keseluruhan kucing yang diperiksa, sebanyak enam ekor (35%) positif terinfeksi Toxoplasma gondii, dan 65% menunjukkan kondisi negatif terhadap infeksi parasit Toxoplasma gondii. Darah kucing semuanya diperiksa menggunakan alat Haematology analyzer. Data hasil pemeriksaan dibandingkan kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan profil darah pada kucing positif toksoplasmosis mengalami perubahan pada jumlahnya daripada kucing negatif. Simpulan yang dapat di tarik adalah terjadi peningkatan pada data differensial leukosit terutama pada monosit dan eusinofil. (A study on toxoplasmosis has been conducted in Banda Aceh Municapility and the surroundings area. The study was aimed to find out the prevalence rate of toxoplasmosis in the observed area and to observe the changes in the blood profile between the infected cats and non infective ones. As many as six cats tested positive using Rapid test, with a prevalence of 35% for Toxoplasma gondii. The total number of cats observed were 17, all the cats were taken from four areas, wich were wet markets in Banda Aceh. The cat’s whole blood were examined using a Hematology analyzer. The data obtained were compared and analyzed descriptively. The results revealed that the blood profile of toxoplasmosis positive cats were changed in numbers compare with negative cats. It was concluded that the toxoplasmosis, infected cats had changings in parameters regarding differential leukocyte, especially the increased of monocytes and eosinophils.)
