Title : The Effectiveness of Using Snow White Comic Through Reading Comprehension to Improve Students’ Vocabulary Mastery (An Experimental Study at Man 2 Montasik Aceh Besar)

Improving the vocabulary mastery of the students requires creativity in finding strategy so that the students are motivated to try by them self to memorize the vocabulary. Therefore, this research aims to use comic in order to improve students’ vocabulary mastery through reading comprehension. The researcher focuses on the use of Snow White comic in improving students’ vocabulary mastery. This research uses tests which are divided into pre-test and post-test and also questionnaire as the instruments. The sample were the students of MAN 2 Montasik Aceh Besar, which consisted of 40 students divided into experimental class and control class. The score is tabulated statistically by using t-test, and the students’ answers in questionnaire were analyzed by researcher. The result of hypothesis testing of this research showed that students’ vocabulary mastery is significantly improved. Furthermore, the students’ responses toward the use of comic to improve vocabulary mastery was positive and the students showed their interesting to read the comic. Therefore, the use of comic to improve students’ vocabulary mastery through reading comprehension is suggested to be used by teacher to help students in learning and memorizing vocabulary.
