The objective of this study is to find out the contextual usage of Acehnese personal pronouns across Acehnese dialects. Data of this study were collected from sixteen native speakers of Acehnese who come from the four Acehnese dialects; West Aceh dialect, North Aceh dialect, Greater Aceh dialect, and Pidie dialect. This is a qualitative study where interview was used as the instrument in data collection. In analyzing the data, the steps proposed by Ary (2010) were used. The results of this study show that in general the contextual usage of Acehnese personal pronouns across the four Acehnese dialects under study is quite similar. However, there are a number of differences in terms of choices of the pronoun variations being used depending on contexts of use which are determined several factors. The factor which mostly influences the use of Acehnese personal pronouns across Acehnese dialects is politeness and impoliteness level. Then, the use of certain forms of pronouns is also influenced by the factors of age, educational and family background, occupation and social position of the speakers. Lastly, the results of this research show that such factors as relationship among the speakers, setting or situation including the atmosphere of formality or the mood of the speakers also influence the use of Acehnese personal pronouns.
