<note>HDI (Human Development Index) is a measuring indicator which describes the attainment of human development in a country. In addition, it is divided into three major dimensions namely the amount of life expectation which is measured by how long the people life and their health, education that measured by how long someone takes his/her education included the educated amount in a society, and life standard which can be measured from the outcome of the societies' per capita The aim of this research is to know the human development index (HDI) at a particular region (Bahgie), a village which is located in the middle of Aceh especially in 2012. The method applied in this study was a census method. The population of this research is collected based on the family card (KK), there are 90 populations that already investigated by the writer. Specifically, the writer was success in collecting all data by getting 389 totals of respondents. The data used in this research were primary and secondary data. Furthermore, the analysis formula used in this research was IPM= (X +X + X3). The result showed that the human development index at Bahgie in 2012 still low (about 57, 9%). It is caused by the amount of life expectation and the outcomes of the societies' per capita are getting decrease. Those problems appear because the location is far away from the capital of regency, lack of education facilities, and the society who lives there does not really care about their health.
