Picture and Picture Technique for Junior High
School

This study was aimed to know whether picture and picture technique can improve students’ writing ability especially in procedure text. The dependent variable of this study is writing and independent variable is Picture and Picture Technique. This research method is a library research with the research that devides its activities only collecting information from various types of journals, books, articles, or materials in the library collection without doing field research in order to solve the problems being investigated.Writing is one of important skills which should be mastered by students. Students are not interested in learning writing because they suppose it is difficult. Moreover teacher rarely teaches writing at class, and she does not have appropriate method for teaching writing skill. A picture and picture technique is number of related composite pictures. Students seem enjoy describing picture, perhaps because the stories are often imaginative and colorful. They offer a challenge to students to use their power creativity as pictures can be used as a support to teach writing since they motivate students in making composition and bringing a different situation and a new variation of teaching learning activity at the classroom.
