PERSIAPAN, PELAKSANAAN NEKROPSI DAN KOLEKSI SAMPEL
HISTOPATOLOGI PADA KASUS NEWCASTLE DISEASE

ABSTRAK
Nekropsi atau bedah bangkai hewan bertujuan untuk menetapkan diagnosa
penyakit atau penyebab kematian dari seekor hewan. Penulisan Tugas Akhir
tentang kasus Newcastle disease ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana
persiapan sebelum nekropsi, pelaksanaan nekropsi yang benar dan cara koleksi
sampel untuk uji histopatologi. Nekropsi dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Patologi,
Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah Laboratorium Veteriner Dinas Peternakan dan
Kesehatan Hewan Aceh terhadap 2 ekor ayam broiler dan 1 ekor ayam kampung.
Sebelum dilakukan nekropsi dilakukan persiapan alat dan bahan untuk nekropsi
dan koleksi sampel. Pelaksanaan nekropsi diawali dengan pemeriksaan
sinyalemen, anamnesa dan keadaan luar bangkai, selanjutnya dilakukan nekropsi
dan diamati dan dicatat perubahan pada organ dan terakhir dilakukan koleksi
organ trakhea, paru-paru, duodenum, proventrikulus, seka tonsil dan otak. Dokter
Hewan menetapkan diagnosis Newcastle disease pada semua unggas yang di
nekropsi berdasarkan adanya lesi hemoragi/hipermi pada organ trakhea,
duodenum, proventrikulus, seka tonsil dan otak. Fiksasi organ untuk uji
histopatologi menggunakan Netral Buffer Formalin (NBF 10%). Keterampilan
dan pengetahuan paramedik veteriner tentang persiapan alat yang dibutuhkan,
pelaksanaan nekropsi yang sesuai prosedur dan koleksi sampel berupa organ
trakhea, paru-paru, proventrikulus, usus dan otak dalan larutan NBF 10% sangat
mendukung dalam menentukan diagnosis Newcastle disease pada kasus lapang.

PREPARATION, IMPLEMENTATION OF NECROPSI AND
HISTOPATOLOGY SAMPLE COLLECTION IN NEWCASTLE
DISEASE CASE

ABSTRACT
Animal necropsy or surgery for the diagnosis of diseases or causes of
death from animals. The writing of the Final Project on the problem of Newcastle
disease is intended to find out how to prepare before necropsy, the correct
implementation of necropsy and how to collect samples for histopathological
testing. Necropsy was carried out at the Pathology Laboratory, Regional
Technical Implementation Unit of the Veterinary Laboratory of the Animal
Husbandry and Animal Health Office of Aceh on 2 broilers and 1 native chicken.
Prior to necropsy, preparation of tools and materials for necropsy and sample
collection were carried out. Necropsy was started with examination of signal,
anamnesa and carcasses, then necropsy was examined and changes were recorded
in organs and finally the collection of organs trachea, lungs, duodenum,
proventriculus, tonsil and brain. Veterinarians determine the diagnosis of
Newcastle Disease in all birds found based on the presence of hemorrhage /
hypermi lesions in the tracheal, duodenal, proventricular, tonsil and brain organs.
Organ fixation for histopathological testing using NBF 10% neutral formalin
buffer. Veterinary paramedic skills and knowledge about the preparation of the
tools needed, the implementation of appropriate necropsy procedures and
collection of samples consisting of tracheal organs, lungs, proventriculus,
intestines and brain in a 10% NBF solution is very supportive in the diagnosis of
Newcastle disease in the field.
