ABSTRAK Budaya aktifitas ngopi bagi mahasiswa merupakan suatu fenomena yang terlihat dimana kehidupan mahasiswa banyak yang dihabiskan untuk kegiatan nongkrong dan ngopi berjam-jam. Mereka menciptakan makna tersendiri terhadap kegiatan ngopi atau nongkrong tersebut, makna yang di maksud adalah makna yang di adopsi oleh individu secara subjektif. Hampir setiap hari warung kopi yang berada di kawasan Kopelma Darussalam selalu di datangi oleh mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor apa yang melatar belakangi aktivitas ngopi dan apa makna ngopi itu sendiri terhadap mahasiswa yang ngopi di kawasan Kopelma Darussalam, Banda Aceh. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Teori Masyarakat Konsumsi Jean Paul Baudrillard. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif pendekatan deskriptif. Informan penelitian ini di peroleh dengan metode purposive sampling. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah perilaku konsumtif dikalangan mahasiswa dalam kaitannya dengan ngopi di Banda Aceh didonimasi oleh dasar makna itu sendiri dan menyampingkan nilai guna ngopi tersebut. Dengan melihat nilai guna, semestinya ngopi hanya diartikan sebatas minum kopi saja, namun tidak hanya sebatas itu saja, ngopi di nilai mempunya makna yang lebih dari hanya sekedar minum kopi. Bagi mahasiswa, ngopi bisa di katakan sebagai kegiatan untuk berkumpul, melakukan diskusi, sharing, mengerjakan tugas dan bahkan juga tidak sedikit dari mereka memanfaatkan fasilitas warung kopi untuk bermain game, browsing dan berjualan online. Kata Kunci : Budaya; Ngopi; Mahasiswa ABSTRACT The culture of ngopi activities for college student is a visible phenomenon where a lot of student life spent on hangout and ngopi activities for hours. They create their own meaning to the activities of the ngopi or hang out, meaning that the intent is the meaning that is adopted by the individual subjective. Almost every day, the coffee shop in Kopelma Darussalam area is always visited by students. This study aims to determine what factors are behind the activities of ngopi and what is the meaning of ngopi itself towards students who are ngopi in the Kopelma Darussalam area, Banda Aceh. The theory used in this research is the theory of community consumption Jean P. Baudrillard. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach method. The informants of this study were obtained by purposive sampling method. The result of the research is the consumptive behavior among students in relation to the ngopi in Banda Aceh donimated basic by meaning itself and override the value usability of the ngopi. By looking at the value usability, it is supposed that the ngopi only interpreted to drink coffee, but not only that only, ngopi in the value has a meaning that is more than just drinking coffee. For students, ngopi can be said as an activity to gather, conduct discussions, sharing, do tasks and even not a few of them utilize the coffee shop facilities to playing game, browsing and sell online.
