 <note>ABSTRAK&#13;
Methicillin resistant  Staphylococcus aureus  (MRSA) adalah strain khusus &#13;
Staphylococcus aureus yang resisten terhadap methicillin dan antibiotik golongan &#13;
penisilin.   Oleh  karena  itu,  perlu  dikembangkan  alternatif  pengobatan  sebagai &#13;
solusi  mengatasi  masalah  resistensi  antibiotik.  Salah  satu  tanaman  yang  telah &#13;
banyak dimanfaatkan secara tradisional adalah daun ubi kayu  (Manihot esculenta &#13;
Crantz)  varietas  Mentega.  Penelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  membuktikan  efek &#13;
antibakteri  ekstrak  etanol  daun  ubi  kayu  (Manihot  esculenta  Crantz)    varietas &#13;
Mentega  terhadap  MRSA  secara  in  vitro.  Uji  daya  hambat  antibakteri  ini &#13;
menggunakan  metode  difusi  cakram.  Penelitian  ini  menggunakan  Rancangan &#13;
Acak Lengkap yang terdiri dari 4 kelompok perlakuan, 1 kelompok kontrol positif&#13;
dan 1 kelompok kontrol negatif. Kelompok perlakuan terdiri dari  ekstrak etanol &#13;
daun ubi kayu  (Manihot esculenta  Crantz)    varietas  Mentega  konsentrasi 12,5%, &#13;
25%,  50%  dan  75%.  Kelompok  kontrol  positif  yang  digunakan  adalah &#13;
Vancomycin 30 µg  dan  kelompok  kontrol  negatif  yang  digunakan  adalah  CMC &#13;
1%.  Hasil  analisis  data  dengan  menggunakan  Analysis  of  Variance  (ANOVA)&#13;
pada  taraf  0,05  dan  dilanjutkan  dengan  uji  beda  nyata  terkecil (BNT).  Hasil &#13;
penelitian meunjukkan bahwa    ekstrak etanol daun ubi kayu  (Manihot esculenta &#13;
Crantz)  varietas  Mentega  pada  konsentrasi  diatas  terhadap  pertumbuhan  bakteri &#13;
MRSA dengan diameter zona hambat rata-rata masing-masing berturut adalah  12 &#13;
mm,  10 mm, 11  mm, 14  mm.  Hasil analisa data menunjukkan adanya pengaruh &#13;
yang  sangat  nyata  (p&lt;  0,05)  dari  hasil  pemberian  ekstrak  daun  ubi  kayu  dalam &#13;
menghambat  pertumbuhan  Methicillin  resistant  Staphylococcus  aureus.&#13;
Kesimpulan  dari  penelitian  ini  adalah    ekstrak  etanol  daun  ubi  kayu  (Manihot &#13;
esculenta  Crantz)    varietas  Mentega  memiliki  efek  antibakteri  terhadap  MRSA&#13;
secara in vitro.&#13;

ABSTRACT&#13;
Methicillin- resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a specific strain of &#13;
Staphylococcus aureus resistant to methicillin and penicillin group of antibiotics. &#13;
Therefore, alternative treatments need to be developed as a solution to overcome &#13;
the  problem  of  antibiotic  resistance.  One  of  the  plants  that  have  been  used &#13;
traditionally  are  the  leaves  of  cassava  (Manihot  esculenta  Crantz)  Butter &#13;
varieties.  This  study  aims  to  prove  the  antibacterial  effect  of  ethanol  extract  of &#13;
leaves of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) varieties of butter against MRSA in &#13;
vitro. This  antibacterial inhibition test using the disc diffusion method. This study &#13;
used  a  completely  randomized  design  consisting  of  4  treatment  groups,  one &#13;
positive  control  group  and  1  negative  control  group.  The  treatment  group &#13;
consisted  of  ethanol  extract  of  leaves  of  cassava  (Manihot  esculenta  Crantz) &#13;
varieties Butter concentration of 12.5 %, 25 %, 50 % and 75 %. Positive control &#13;
group used was 30 mg Vancomycin and negative control group used is 1 % CMC.&#13;
The  results  of  the  data  analysis  by  using  Analysis  of  Variance  (ANOVA)  at  the &#13;
level of 0.05 , followed by least significant difference test (BNT). The results of the &#13;
study  reveals  that  the  ethanol  extract  of  leaves  of  cassava  (Manihot  esculenta &#13;
Crantz) varieties of butter at a concentration above the MRSA bacterial growth &#13;
inhibition zone diameter average of each row is 12  mm, 10  mm, 11  mm, 14  mm . &#13;
The results of the data analysis showed a highly significant effect (p &lt; 0.05) from &#13;
the results of cassava leaf extract in inhibiting the growth of Methicillin- resistant &#13;
Staphylococcus  aureus.  The  conclusion  of  this  study  is  the  ethanol  extract  of &#13;
leaves of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) varieties Butter has an antibacterial &#13;
effect against MRSA in vitro.&#13;
