Aktivitas antimakan ekstrak metanol lima spesies dari tumbuhan famili Zingiberaceae yaitu Alpina galanga, Curcuma longa, Curcuma xanthoriza,   Kaemferia galanga, dan Zingiber officinale, telah diuji terhadap Epilachna sparsa. Proses ekstraksi  dilakukan dengan metode maserasi dan menghasilkan rendemen secara  berturut-turut adalah 13%, 14%, 11%, 14%, dan 7%. Analisa fitokimia semua sampel mengandung alkaloid dan steroid, namun tidak mengandung saponin. Terpenoid hanya ditemukan pada C. longa, K. galanga, dan C. xanthoriza, sedangkan flavanoid hanya ditemukan pada C. longa dan K. galanga dan A. galanga. Hasil uji antimakan menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol dari C. longa, K. galanga, dan C. xanthoriza mempunyai aktivitas antimakan paling tinggi dengan kriteria kuat mulai dari konsentrasi 0,5 %  , sedangkan Z. officinale dan A. Galanga pada konsentrasi 10 % hanya memiliki  aktivitas antimakan pada kriteria sedang.&#13;

ABSTRACT&#13;
Antifeedant activity of methanol extracts of five species from the Zingiberaceae family plants namely Zingiber officinale, Curcuma xanthoriza, Alpina galanga  Kaemferia galanga, and Curcuma longa, have been tested against Epilachna sparsa. The extraction process was carried out by maceration method and yields 7%, 11%, 13%, 14%, and 17% of the extracts. Phytochemical analysis of the samples founded  that all species contains alkaloids and steroids, but did not have saponins. Terpenoids where only found in C. longa, K. galanga, and C. xanthoriza, While, flavanoids are only found in C. longa, K. galanga and A. galanga. Antifeedant activity assay result showed that methanol extract from C. longa, K. Galanga, and C. Xanthoriza where have highest antifeedants activity whiles strong category start from 0,5 % concentration, while Z. officinale and A. galanga have midle activity category from 10 % concentration at the showed lowest antifeedant activity   .&#13;
