Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi sampah anorganik berdasarkan berat, jenis, dan kelimpahan sampah di kawasan mangrove Gampong Jawa, Banda Aceh. Transek dipasang sepanjang 6 m x 100 m di tiga stasiun. Sampah yang didapatkan sebanyak 128 item, dengan berat 3,012 kg dan kelimpahan 0.213 item/m2. Sampah yang ditemukan dikelompokkan kedalam kategori plastik, kaca, karet, dan lain-lain. Sampah plastik paling banyak ditemukan pada stasiun 1 dengan jenis kantung plastik. Jenis sampah plastik yang paling banyak ditemukan pada ketiga stasiun adalah jenis kantung plastik dengan kelimpahan 0,053 item/m2. Sedangkan sampah kategori kaca merupakan sampah yang memiliki berat rata-rata tertinggi yaitu 0,275 kg. Tingginya tingkat kelimpahan sampah pada stasiun 1 diduga karena stasiun 1 memiliki kerapatan mangrove yang tinggi sehingga memungkinkan sampah dapat terperangkap di akar mangrove. Stasiun 2 dan 3 memiliki kelimpahan sampah yang cukup rendah karena kerapatan mangrovenya yang rendah pula.&#13;

ABSTRACT&#13;
&#13;
The objective of this research was to investigate the inorganic debris based on weight, type, and debris abundance in mangrove area Gampong Jawa, Banda Aceh. Transect was installed along 6 m x 100 m at three sites. The debris collected was 128 items, with weight 3.012 kg and debris abundance of 0.213 items /m2. The debris found was grouped into plastic, glass, rubber, and others category. The most common type found at the three stations was plastic bags with an abundance of 0.053 items/m2. The glass category was the highest average weight with 0.275 kg. The high level of debris abundance at station 1 was suspected because station 1 has the highest mangrove density so that allows the debris trapped at the mangrove roots. Stations 2 and 3 have less debris abundance because the low density of mangroves.&#13;
