ABSTRAK
Fear of negative evaluation (FNE) merupakan suatu kekhawatiran pada individu mengenai evaluasi negatif dari orang lain. FNE dapat memengaruhi kegiatan sehari-hari individu termasuk di media sosial, salah satunya motivasi mengunggah foto selfie. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan FNE dengan motivasi mengunggah foto selfie pada remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 332 remaja putri yang berusia 15-18 tahun. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis korelasi Spearman. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara FNE dengan motivasi untuk mencari perhatian dalam mengunggah foto selfie, (r=0,180; p=0,001) yang mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi FNE yang dimiliki individu, maka semakin tinggi pula motivasi mengunggah foto selfie untuk mencari perhatian. Selanjutnya, terdapat hubungan positif antara FNE dengan motivasi untuk komunikasi dalam mengunggah foto selfie, (r=0,162; p=0,003) yang mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi FNE yang dimiliki individu, maka semakin tinggi pula motivasi mengunggah foto selfie untuk komunikasi. Disamping itu, analisis menemukan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara FNE dengan motivasi untuk hiburan dalam mengunggah foto selfie, dikarenakan (p)= 0,216; (p>0,05). Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa remaja dengan rasa khawatir akan evaluasi negatif yang tinggi cenderung termotivasi untuk mencari perhatian dan berkomunikasi dalam mengunggah foto selfie.

ABSTRACT
Fear of negative evaluation is apprehension about negative evaluation from others. Fear of negative evaluation (FNE) on people especially adolescents can influence their daily activities including on social media, such as motivation for posting selfies. This study aims to determine the correlation of FNE and motivation for posting selfies in women adolescents. This study uses a quantitative approach through a purposive sampling technique with an overall total samples of 332 women adolescents aged 15-18 years. The data collection in this study uses the Brief Version of the Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale (BFNE) and Motivation For Posting Selfies on SNSs Scale (MPSS). The analysis of the data in this study using Spearman correlation analysis. The results of data analysis showed that there was a positive relationship between FNE and attention seeking motivation in posting selfies, with values (r = 0.180 and p = 0.001). It is defined as the higher of FNE, the higher attention seeking motivation in posting selfies. Furthermore, there is a positive relationship between FNE and communication motivation in posting selfies, with values (r = 0.162 and p = 0.003). It is defined as the higher of FNE, the higher communication motivation in posting selfies. Furthermore, the analysis found that there was no correlation between fear of negative evaluation and entertainment motivation in posting selfies, because the significance value showed (p) = 0.216, (p> 0.05). This study revealed that adolescents who had high levels of worry about negative evaluations were likely to seek attention and communication in posting selfies.
