This research used experimental quantitative research the population of the research was all of the second year students at MTsN 13 Pidie which consisted of two classes. Two classes were chosen as the sample. The writer took class VIII-1 as the experimental class which was taught by using You Tube channel and class VIII-2 as the control class taught without using You Tube channel but only the material from text book. The instruments used to collect the data were test and questionnaire. The data from the test were analyzed by using t-test score between two classes, i.e. experimental and control classes. The data from the questionnaire were analyzed by using the percentage formula to find the students’ responses toward the use of authentic material from YouTube channel. The result of data analysis shows that (1) the use of authentic material from Youtube Channel through small group work technique in teaching speaking skill to the second grade students of MTsN 13 Pidie in the academic year of 2018/2019 was successful.
