ABSTRAK Kehidupan manusia di zaman modern yang begitu kompetetif sehingga berbagai problem sering muncul dalam dirinya, seperti stres, rasa cemas, kegelisahan jiwa/batin serta selalu tidak tenang dalam menjalani kehidupan. Akhirnya ketegangan emosi yang ditimbulkan menuntut seseorang untuk mencari ketenangan dan penyelesaian hidup dengan cara mendekatkan diri kepada Allah salah satunya melalui keikutsertaan dalam majlis zikir. Melalui identifikasi tersebut peneliti membuat suatu kajian yang berjudul “Motivasi Individu dalam Mengikuti Zikir Ratep Siribee Studi pada Masjid Raya Baiturrahman Banda Aceh”, dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui faktor dan motivasi individu dalam mengikuti rateb siribee. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif, dimana peneliti terjun langsung ke lokasi penelitian untuk mendapatkan data penelitian dengan observasi dan wawancara. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor pendorong masyarakat dalam mengikuti zikir adalah karena pelopornya merupakan ulama kharismatik Aceh, kemudian karena menginginkan kedamaian dan ketenteraman di dalam hati dan jiwa serta karena diadakannya di Masjid Raya Baiturrahman sembari dapat mengunjungi Masjid kebanggaan orang Aceh. Selanjutnya, motivasi yang didapatkan setelah mengikuti zikir yaitu terjadinya perubahan dan kekuatan ke arah yang lebih baik dari yang sebelumnya, masalah yang dialami seakan hilang, merasakan kedamaian dan ketenangan dalam hidup. Akhirnya hadirnya majelis dzikir di berbagai daerah dapat menjadi obat bagi segenap orang yang memiliki tekanan dalam hidup. Sebagai kota Provinsi, Banda Aceh memiliki beberapa majelis zikir diantaranya adalah Rateb Siribee. The results of the study showed that the motivating factor for the dhikr was that the pioneers were Acehnese charismatic clerics, then because they wanted peace and tranquility in their hearts and souls and because they were held at the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque while visiting the Mosque of the pride of the Acehnese people. Furthermore, the motivation obtained after following the dhikr is the occurrence of change and strength towards a better than before, the problems experienced seem to disappear, feel peace and calm in life. Finally the presence of the dhikr council in various regions can be a cure for all people who have stresses in life.
