Title : The Use of Learning Model of Talking Stick in Increasing
Students’ Speaking Skill (A Classroom Action Research at Grade 2, Semester 1, SMPN 1 Blang Pidie, Abdya)

This study aims at investigating the use of learning model of talking stick in order to increase students’ speaking skill ability. For this purpose, classroom action research undertaken to solve the problems faced by students at SMPN 1 Blang Pidie, Abdya regency in learning speaking skill. Students at VIII 2 class became the sample of study that contained 12 male students and 16 female students. The data collected in this study by means of test and observation. From the result of study shows that students’ learning outcome on second cycle increased in which on first cycle the number of students who achieved learning accomplishment 17 students (60,71 %), while, on second cycle it became 23 students (82,14 %) who had achieved learning accomplishment. From this study can be concluded that the use of learning model of talking stick can increase students’ ability in speaking skill. Therefore, it is suggested for teachers of English to use this learning model in order to increase their students learning achievement particularly in teaching speaking skill.
