Abstract Name : Ziaul Khairi Student No. : 1506102020066 Department/Program : English Education/Undergraduate Title : “An Analysis Types of Meaning in the Lyrics of Apache13’s Song From the “Bek Panik” Album” Keywords: Semantics, Song, Meaning. Semantics is a part of linguistics that discusses meaning in language. The purpose of this study to find out the types of meaning used in Apache13 Bek Panik song album. The research design of this study was qualitative research. The result showed that there were 186 types of meaning used in Apache13 Bek Panik album. Those 186 meaning types were based on the types of meaning proposed by Mwihaki (2004) namely: conceptual meaning (154), social meaning (15), affective meaning (7), collocative meaning (6), connotative meaning (4), and associative meaning (0). The conceptual meaning is the most used in the Apache13 “Bek Panik” song album. The result could be caused by the fact that songs from Apache13 are mostly about social criticism, social conditions and personal lives. While there is no associative meaning found in this research. However, the least used is connotative meaning. The number of connotative meaning found in the songs are mostly caused by the fact that the songwriter didn’t use hidden messages in large amount. The result imply that the meaning types used in Apache13 “Bek Panik” song album make the songs more meaningful.
