Title	: The Implementation of Role Play Technique to Improve Students’ Achievement in Speaking.&#13;

The role play technique used in this study is based on the student difficulty in mastery speaking skill. This technique aims to involve students’ speaking in their real life situation. The objective of this study is to measure the students’ mastery after they practice speaking through role play. In order to address this issue,a quantitative study was conducted on second year students of SMP Negeri 10 Banda Aceh. The design used in this study was one group experimental design. The result of this study showed that role play technique is able to improve students’ achievement in speaking. The mean scores of post-test is higher than the mean score of pre-test (13,14&gt;7,85). In means that the students’ achievement in speaking skill improve 5,29 point. T-value of the research is 4,165 which is highest than Tt at the level significant 0,05 (4,165&gt;2,086). It can be concluded that the result is significant. Role play technique is a very suitable method for senior high school students because it can make them enjoy the learning process, provides fun, highly motivated and reduces the stress in the learning process.&#13;
