The objectives of this study are to describe: (1) the teacher’s preparation in teaching English in term of lesson plan, teaching material, teaching method, and teaching media and (2) the process of teaching English in term of pre-activity, main-activity, and post-activity (Brewster, 2002). The qualitative study and case study design were employed for the study. The instruments of the study were observation sheet which was adopted from Brewster (2002), interview guide and documentation. An English teacher teaching at the fifth graders of SD Teuku Nyak Arif Fatih Bilingual School Banda Aceh was selected as the subject of this study. Four classroom observations were employed to collect the data on the process of the implementation of ELT in term of pre-activity, main-activity, and post-activity. Also the personal interview with the teacher was conducted to support the main data from classroom observation in gaining the data concerning to the teachers’ preparation in ELT in term of preparation of lesson plan, teaching material, teaching method, and teaching media. The data of the study were analyzed qualitatively using techniques which were adopted from Creswell (2012), Mile and Huberman (1994), and Bowen (2002). The result reveals that the preparation (the lesson plan, teaching material, and teaching method) was based on the lesson plans and the classroom observations. They prepared once at the beginning of the semester, then they were designed with some improvement in every week to fit to the students’ need. The teaching media were also prepared in every week where the teacher herself created all the media using her creativity, and she also use media technology which were provided by the school such as computer, internet, projector, and loudspeaker. The result also indicates that the process of pre-activity, main-activity, and post-activity were mostly suitable with the indicator which was adopted from Brewster (2002) and the lesson plan of each meeting. In conclusion, the implementation of ELT toward the fifth grade students of SD Teuku Nyak Arif Fatih Bilingual School Banda Aceh in term of the teacher’s preparation and the process of teaching English was well implemented by the teacher.
