ABSTRACT This research was conducted in East Simeulue and South Teupah which was divided into several points Gosong Batu Sihuak, Babi Island, Gosong Jawi, Gosong Lataling, Gosong Batu Berlayar 1 and Gosong Batu Berlayar 2. The aim is to find out the types of coral diseases, the prevalence and abundance of diseases found in the East Simeulue Subdistrict and South Teupah District. The Belt Transect Transect method is stretched 20 meters with an observation area of 1 meter to the right and left transect. Observations were carried out with 3 repetitions with a total area of observation of 40 m2. The research results obtained from coral disease found in the six observation stations were Tissue LossPredation: Fish Bites, Crown of Thorns, feeding scars; Tissue Loss - Non Predation: White Syndromes, Atramentous Necrosis; Growth Anomalies: invertebrate galls; Compromised Health: Sponges, Red Filamentous Algae and Sediment Demage. The average prevalence of coral disease in East Simeulue Subdistrict is 66.55% and the average coral disease abundance is 0.46 ind/m . In South Teupah Subdistrict it has an average prevalence value of 67.65% and a coral abundance average of 1.07 ind/m 2 . Keywords: Coral Disease, Prevalence, Coral Disease Abundance, Simeulue 2 ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Simeulue Timur dan Teupah Selatan yang terbagi menjadi beberapa titik yaitu Gosong Batu Sihuak, Pulau Babi, Gosong Jawi, Gosong Lataling, Gosong Batu Berlayar 1 dan Gosong Batu Berlayar 2. Yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis penyakit karang, prevalensi dan kelimpahan penyakit yang ditemukan pada Kawasan Kecamatam Simeulue Timur dan Kecamatan Teupah Selatan. Metode Belt Transect Transect dibentangkan 20 meter dengan luas pengamatan 1 meter ke kanan dan kiri transect. Pengamatan dilakukan dengan 3 kali pengulangan dengan luas total daerah pengamatan 40 m . Hasil penilitian yang didapatkan penyakit karang yang ditemukan pada keenam stasiun pengamatan adalah Tissue Loss- Predation: Fish Bites, COT (Crown of Thorns) feeding scars; Tissue Loss- Non Predation: White Syndromes, Atramentous Necrosis; Growth Anomalies: invertebrata galls ; Compromised Health: Sponges, Red Filamentous Algae dan Sediment Demage. Rata - rata Prevalensi penyakit karang pada Kecamatan Simeulue Timur sebesar 66,55% dan rata-rata kelimpahan penyakit karang sebesar 0,46 ind/m 2 . Pada Kecamatan Teupah Selatan memiliki nilai rata – rata prevalensi sebesar 67,65% dan rata-rata kelimpahan penyakit karang sebesar 1,07 ind/m 2 .
