Petani masih mengandalkan pestisida sintetis dalam mengendalikan serangan larva Papilio demoleus, sehingga perlu dicari metode alternatif dengan memanfaatkan tumbuhan sebagai pestisida nabati. Ekstrak daun babadotan (Ageratum conyzoides) mengandung senyawa aktif flavonoid, alkaloid, terpenoid dan fenolik/tanin yang dapat menghambat aktivitas makan larva serangga serta tidak menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas senyawa antimakan dari ekstrak A. conyzoides terhadap larva P. demoleus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode cakram tanpa pilihan. Perlakuan yang diberikan terdiri dari ekstrak A. conyzoides yang dilarutkan dalam metanol dengan konsentrasi 2,5; 5,0; 7,5 dan 10,0% (b/v) selama 24 jam sebanyak 10 ulangan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak A. conyzoides pada konsentrasi 7,5 dan 10,0% (b/v) efektif dalam menghambat makan larva dengan nilai rata-rata %AI &gt; 50% (secara berurutan 60,49% dan 60,80%). &#13;

Farmers still rely on synthetic insecticides to control the attack of Papilio demoleus larvae, and it is necessary to find an alternative method by utilizing plant as biological insecticides. Babadotan (Ageratum conyzoides) leaves extract contained active compounds such as flavonoids,  alkaloids, terpenoid and phenols/tanin that can block the feeding activity of insect larvae and does not cause environmental damage. The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of antifeedant compounds of A. conyzoides extracts towards P. demoleus  larvae. This research applied no-choice leaf disk method. The treatments consisted of A. conyzoides extract which dissolved in methanol with concentration of 2,5; 5,0; 7,5 and 10,0% (b/v) in 24 hours with 10 repetitions. The result showed that A. conyzoides extract with concentrations between 7,5 and 10,0% (b/v) were effective as antifeedant larvae with average %AI&gt;50% (sequentially 60,49% and 60,80%).&#13;
