PERKEMBANGAN DAN GAMBARAN ANATOMIS LARVA INFEKTIF (L3) Haemonchus contortus YANG DIBIAKKAN DENGAN VERMICULITE RAHMI SULASTRI MUKHTAR (0802101010006) ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh informasi dasar tentang bioekologi dari Haemonchus contortus, berupa pembiakan larva serta perkembangan dan gambaran anatomis larva infektif (L3). Sampel yang digunakan adalah telur dari cacing Haemonchus contortus yang dipanen dari abomasum dan usus kambing yang disembelih di RPH Kampung Jawa Banda Aceh yang kemudian dibiakkan dengan vermiculite, dan diamati sampai menjadi larva infektif (L3). Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa waktu yang dibutuhkan telur untuk menjadi larva infektif adalah 7 hari. Larva yang diperoleh memiliki morfologi yang seragam, dengan diameter tubuh 22 µm, panjang ujung ekor sampai dengan hialin 55 µm, esofagus posterior sampai dengan ekor 592 µm, panjang esofagus anterior sampai dengan esofagus posterior 145 µm, dan panjang total tubuh larva 737 µm. Development and Anatomical Description of Haemonchus contortus Infective Larvae (L3) Cultured with Vermiculite ABSTRACT This study was aimed at obtaining basic information about bioecology of Haemonchus contortus, related to larval development and anatomical description of infective larvae (L3). In this study, the ova of Haemonchus contortus were harvested out from abomasums and intestines of goats slaughtered in municipal slaughterhouse in Kampung Jawa Banda Aceh. The ova of Haemonchus contortus were then cultured using vermiculite as media, and observed daily until the larvae reached 3rd stage larvae. The result revealed that the larvae need 7 days to reach from eggs into infective larvae. Larvae obtained has uniform morphology, with a body diameter of 22 ?m, tail length up to 55 ?m hyaline, esophagus posterior to the tail of 592 ?m, length of esophagus anterior to posterior esophagus 145 ?m, and a total body length of larvae 737 ?m.
